The second edition of the Spanish Film Festival of Edinburgh arrives from 2 to 10 October with a total of 11 feature films, 5 documentaries, and 5 shorts that will be screened at the Filmhouse and at the University of Edinburgh.
The documentary “Las Sinsombrero” (“Sinsombrero”), in its UK premiere, and “La vida inesperada” (“The Unexpected Life”) will kick off this edition of the festival, which is supported by Creative Scotland.
Directors Tánia Balló, Alfonso Zarauza, Jose Mari Goenaga, and Luis Ordóñez, and screenwriter Elvira Lindo, will join this second edition of the festival.
Some of the films that will be screened are “Loreak” (“Flowers”), the Basque film of José Mari Goenaga that has recently been selected to represent Spain at the Oscars; “Ocho apellidos vascos” (“Spanish Affair”), the highest grossing Spanish film in Spanish box office history; “Metegol” (“Unbeatables”), the winner of the Goya Award for Best Animated Film in 2014; and “Snacks”, a documentary that explains the origin, evolution, results and consequences of Spain’s modern culinary history.
